Penne enjoys figuring out how to make the things she sees in her mind and in her sketchbooks as a potter. Her imagination is piqued daily by all the information, history, and philosophy she has read. Her interest in the myriad possiblilityes of clay has not wavered over many years and the initiation of a new idea or technique is always exciting to begin and complete. When she creates her work, she uses whatever method works for making her idea come to life. She has been producing functional and sculptural pottery in the invigorating high desert country of New Mexico for over 50 years. She has been teaching pottery for over 40 years.
