Jeremiah Cogan - Jewelry

Jerry has done art as long as he can remember, encouraged by his parents, teachers and others. His parents encouraged him and his siblings to learn how to do as much for themselves as they could. He learned to weld as a 9 year old and even learned how to flint nap at about the same age. His art work includes drawing, sculpture, photography and oils, but his main media was watercolor. He painted even as he was practicing medicine as a means of relaxation. While he never developed a market, his work is scattered in private collections throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe. He has won several awards, including an award for sculpture in 1996 at the North American Sculpture Exhibition. His photography has been published in Black and White Magazine. His most recent award was during the New Mexico Watercolor Society show of 2023.
Jerry has been a rock collector as well. He began trying lapidary just prior to retiring and this led to attempts at silversmithing. When he moved to Albuquerque, he decided to take classes to improve his silversmithing and lapidary skills. Most of his work includes cabochons he has made from stones he has found. We hope you enjoy the work displayed here.
