Emily Holcomb - Fiber
Emily fell in love with the Southwest; the intense multi-hued landscape, the variety of distinctive cultures, and the ever-changing, extraordinary light; and resolved to relocate to the southwest after graduating from the University of Georgia. She moved to New Mexico in 1972 where the spell and spectacular beauty of the state continues to amaze her. In her small mixed media fiber pieces, she incorporates hand-dyed fabrics and fibers as wll as metallic threads, beads, and acrylic paints. Her jewelry incorporates a potpourri of natural stones, seed beads, fused glass, and hand-dyed fabric into wearable jewelry and is a truly rewarding and satisfying process of creation.
