Catherine Loweree Williams - Fiber Art

Catherine Loweree Williams discovered a love for weaving and fiber arts while earning her master’s degree in Art Education. She never could have predicted that her habit of constantly tying knots as a child would prepare her to be a weaver. Catherine has been painting and drawing her whole life and uses that experience to bring a painterly quality into her woven work. Her art is largely inspired by memories of her time spent in nature. An avid hiker, traveler, and lover of open skies, Catherine strives to capture the peace that comes with spending time outdoors. Her work is also influenced by her time growing up in the border city of El Paso, Texas, her Mexican-American upbringing, and her 13 years working with students as an art teacher in Albuquerque.
