I love the way wood smells:

Bocote smells like dill pickles

Red Heart smells like cotton candy

Walnut smells like...it smells bad!

I love the way that wood looks:

Lacewood looks like snakeskin

Maple glows like opal

Bubenga swirls and loops

​

I love the way that wood feels:

​

Sycamore feels like lint

Ebony is so heavy it sinks

Koa polishes to a silky smoothness

​

It probably the idea that I need to use all of my senses and my learned skills plus imagination, creativity and design that keeps me interested in artistic woodworking.
