Jason Phillips - Mixmedia
Jason's unique background of theatrical and three-dimensional design enriches his Santa Fe art using interpretations, visual poetry and ideas to create meaningfull oil and watercolor paintings.
Viewing a painting, or other work of art is humanity's direct access to magic. The artist is granted the privilege of releasing his inner being with each stroke, while the viewer is granted access to a separate reality with each viewing. Georgia O'Keefe called this "making your unknown known"; to Jason it is "embracing the unexpected".
He is well known for his Resident Designer and Charge Scenic Artist work at GREG THOMPSON PRODUCTIONS in Seattle, WA. This includes over 20 years and more than 300 productions, designing for the Las Vegas, Atlantic City and Reno/Tahoe casino circuit, plus HARRAH'S, THE GOLDEN NUGGET, CAESAR'S and TRUMP CASTLE. In addition he has created designs for and painted those designs for Microsoft, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Celebrity Cruise Lines, the Royal Opera House in Bangkok, plus work for London's West In, Japan, the Bahamas, Hawaii and the Nova Scotia Museum of Art, among others.
