Rita Ryan

Rita Ryan began her pottery journey with teacher Penne Roberts at the Heights Community Center in Albuquerque, in 1981. Rita has studied clay at Mudfish pottery, and with Corrales Potter Dan Feibig. In 1999 Rita started to sell her pottery at the Village of Los Ranchos Growers market and other smaller shows.

The most recent list of art shows includes The “Tender Loving Arts” fine art show at the Albuquerque 2004 International Balloon Fiesta a 10 day show. And “Christmas at Clear Light” An invitation only fine art show in Placitas. Rita works with high fire stoneware, often combining wheel throwing and hand building skills together. Creating harmony in clay Rita makes contemporary vases inspired by “Ikebana” the art of Japanese flower arranging. Find Rita’s “Pretty Little Pieces of Art” at Yucca Gallery and on the web at www.ritaspots.blogspot.com.
