Elizabeth M. Huffman
The handcrafted jewelry of Elizabeth M. Huffman reflects her fascination with the culture and landscapes of the southwest. Her work is a culmination of more than 30 years of arts and crafts experience. She began her career in drawing and painting, then progressed into woodworking, and leather, ultimately focusing on silver and goldsmithing as her medium of expression.
She likes to refer her work as "painting on metal" using silver, gold, precious and semi-precious stones in layers to achieve a 3-D effect. Many of her pieces depict southwestern landscapes, their colors and textures.
"My jewelry continues to evolve as I look for new ways to showcase God's creation of the gems and minerals I use. The colors, shapes, and matrix in the minerals inspires me to put them in a form people can enjoy."
