A New Mexico native, George was born in Gallup to a pioneer family. His father was a builder and his mother was a teacher, artist, and writer. George has been drawing since childhood.
During World War II, George worked as an illustrator and photographic coordinator for Convair in Ft. Worth, Texas. After the war, he and his wife, Bonnie, moved back to Gallup to work in photography and raise their family. They soon opened their own studio. George continued painting as a pastime while having a successful photographic business.
On retirement, George and Bonnie moved to Albuquerque and built their present home and studio. His favorite subjects for painting are New Mexico landscapes and the old Spanish churches. His works are to be found in homes across the nation as well as in many homes in Europe.
