Spirituality and symbolism of sacred art are what drew Midge Aragon to the study of icons. Midge has studied with several master iconographers learning traditional methods of iconography. With form, color, and light an icon strives to represent the reality of the world beyond the visible world, a "Window into Eternity." The techniques Midge employ's in writing icons range from the traditional use of egg tempera on gessoed wood panel, to acrylic paint on tile.

Midge Aragon's icons are painted in a traditional manner of using a dark base and progressively building translucent lighter colors. Highlights are added for emphasis. Gold leaf is applied for halos and some backgrounds.

Midge Aragon has painted icons for churches and private collectors in the United States and Europe.
